03/25/2009 Entry: "SURPRISE GIG, FLEA, JASON & BACK IN NORTH AMERICA"
Metallica played a much rumored "surprise" gig in support of their upcoming Guitar Hero video game. The band played a quick 13 song set at Stubb's BBQ during the famed Austin, TX South by Southwest Festival.
And as rumored and now officially announced by Metallica.com, Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers will induct the band into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Interviews by Kirk in Austin have indicated that Jason has accepted an invitation - and is expected to play with the band.

And now there's only two left....
My Apocalypse was played at their gig on Wednesday in Birmingham. They also did Black Sabbath's Hole in the Sky.
Oh and as cool as it will be to see Jason play with Metallica, I'm so hoping we also see Jimmy Page (there to induct Jeff Beck) play with the boys at some point during the night.

That would probably be the ultimate for me... I mean, after that.. why even bother going to another Met gig? Frak, that would be amazing.
My Apocalypse? Yawn. Looks like they had my three least favorite tunes on Death Magnetic at that show... bummer.
