Our friends over at BANDitems are back with a new "mission," including items like a signed 1996 Fan Can #1, a signed 'Tallica pic, a a couple itin/pass set, a authentic Tour Jacket and more!! BANDitems is owned and operated by Tony Smith - Tony was Metallica's tour manager, personal assistant, MetClub founder, president and editor (all that and more). Tony's a dear friend of Inter Sandman, which is why he gets this plug from us!

So the new fly on the wall video sounds pretty sweet. awesome riff!

Posted by Nick @ 05/29/2008 05:02 PM EST

cool i think tony has more metallica stuff than metallica does. does he have rare shirts? cuz i always wanted that struggle within long sleeve.

last night i had a dream that pepper got the job instead of rob and they were doing until it sleeps acoustic and the vocal harmonies were godly.

Posted by sean @ 05/29/2008 05:48 PM EST

the last Fly On The Wall video I see is from the 27th... is there anything newer than that?

Posted by NoCreativeNameGuy @ 05/29/2008 05:59 PM EST

I guess I can't see it since I'm on the free MM site. I guess there were 2 videos yesterday?

Posted by The Thing that should not be @ 05/29/2008 06:52 PM EST

there is a few new videos only for platinum users. it seems platinum will update about 2 or 3 times a day and the "free" site will update about once every couple of days at best. but the platinum one from yesterday is already on youtube. its a really slow jammy version of death is not the end.

its like the kid at best buy trying to sell you a platinum protection plan for a 25 dollar cd discman. ill just take the discman.

The vid for today was solid (29th). Very thrashy riff!

Posted by Nick @ 05/29/2008 07:41 PM EST

You talking about this riff?:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5nxCvnBTZk&eurl=http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=97974

Its a different spinn on the riff from New Song 1..."Open Up Your Gates...." I like it!

Posted by EET FUK @ 05/29/2008 09:33 PM EST

issnt that just the "new song" again?

Posted by Mark @ 05/29/2008 10:03 PM EST

Just watched the Metontour video from last night and during the meet & greet, Kirk mentions that some songs have at least 2 solos on 'em, so that sounds pretty cool. Also, they play Devil's Dance, which I found on youtbe. Here you go:

so i am in the club and on MM I saw 2 vids on the 28th and 29th. Am i missing anything or does the club get me all MM has to offer?

Posted by The General @ 05/30/2008 08:51 AM EST

in one of the new videos james says the lyrics (new song 1) are a little too country sorry.."the rambler, gambler stuff" THANK YOU JAMES THANK YOU JAMES!

Posted by sean @ 05/30/2008 11:27 AM EST

Keep in mind, HE wrote those lyrics to begin with!

Posted by D-J @ 05/30/2008 01:06 PM EST

No EET FUK. I am talking about the May 29th video. It's a brand new riff.

Posted by Nick @ 05/30/2008 07:20 PM EST

I just got my MM code in the email for free, did not even buy it. and it works! But the stuff really sucks. no in depth stuff

Posted by Bond @ 05/30/2008 08:05 PM EST

Actually that riff on the latest video is part of the new song #1. It's the middle part just reworked a little......from what I heard. I could be wrong.

Posted by MONSTER @ 05/31/2008 12:58 PM EST

i think u're right

Posted by Tony @ 05/31/2008 01:59 PM EST

well aren't those videos from 2006?

Posted by xino @ 05/31/2008 02:35 PM EST

sean, howd you see the video for the 31st on friday, the 30th? magic? or do you own a DeLorean?

Posted by The General @ 05/31/2008 03:15 PM EST

lol i dunno but i feel like we are watching the deleted scenes of the deleted scenes of the making of the deleted songs from the new album.

Posted by sean @ 05/31/2008 10:54 PM EST

Yep, the secret is out. Sean has a Delorean. Or access to some version of the site that is many hours ahead of what I'm seeing.

Does anyone know when the Platinum-thing will be available for European users. I want to see all the fly on the wall videos!!!

Posted by Juztice @ 06/01/2008 07:25 AM EST

mission metallicas time flux continuum mechanics are flawed. kazakhstan just recieved metallicas new single enter sandman and its sweeping the nation. in other news europes MM platinum members just heard fly on the wall # 1 and according to sources in london it is pretty nutty sounding.

Posted by sean @ 06/01/2008 12:49 PM EST

ha!

Posted by xino @ 06/01/2008 02:46 PM EST

Hi guys from spain!! yesterday the boys played on Madrid....novelty: they played "bleeding me"!!!!....

Posted by John_spain @ 06/01/2008 03:51 PM EST

this part of the setlist has been identical forever:

Nothing Else Matters,
Sad But True,
One,
Enter Sandman ,
- - - - -
Last Caress,
So What,
Seek and Destroy ----------dont they get tired of playing the EXACT same thing everynight? I wish they would play sandman first and get it out of the way. And Seek is the worst encore song every. geez.

Posted by The General @ 06/02/2008 11:10 AM EST

So What and Last Caress have been played in all the shows so far on this tour, but prior to that they weren't regulars. So What wasn't even played on last year's tour. That said, I would like to see them mix up the setlist more. Those slots prior to Seek (which I'm fine with as a closer) should always be different songs. I'd also like to see them drop Sad But True off their play every night list. All that said, I am glad to see Devil's Dance and Bleeding Me being played again. Hopefully, we'll see them go even deeper into their catalog as time goes on with this tour.

Posted by Trace @ 06/02/2008 01:13 PM EST

Well, they mixed it up with a couple of load/reload songs. I agree that I would like to see more variety at the end of the show(I loved when they opened with sandman way back when). As far as sad but true goes, I just watched an interview with James at the weenie roast and he said it was still one of his absolute favorites, so I don't think it's going anywhere. For my money, I wouldn't mind if they replaced Nothing Else Matters with another ballady type song(one of the mellower load/reload type of tunes).

Posted by kurt @ 06/02/2008 01:32 PM EST

I think they should move up Seek & Destroy and end w/ Whiplash. In a recent video interview, James was asked how much longer he'd like to play and he said he'd like to be like the Rolling Stones if possible. He was really inspired by them still playing. I hope the Mighty Met continues for a long time!

Posted by The Thing that should not be @ 06/02/2008 03:58 PM EST

yeah but the rolling stones are like professional golfers they can still play "start me up" at 65. playing battery at 65 is like asking your grandfather to dunk from the foul line.

Posted by sean @ 06/02/2008 06:16 PM EST

Ha Ha Ha! Great point.

Posted by Seth @ 06/03/2008 02:02 AM EST

You know, it really kinda sucks... According to the MM calendar, we have 5 categories of content: Metallica Events, Riffs & Excerpts, Fly On The Wall, Cool Contests, and The Vault. Now, the ONE category I would like to see, Riffs & Excerpts, just so happens to be the ONE category that has NOTHING UP YET! Fly On The Wall is cool, but I wanna hear something more complete and final. When are we gonna get our first Riffs & Excerpts?!?!

Posted by D-J @ 06/03/2008 09:59 AM EST

Yes, playing battery at 65 would be difficult. But I'd go see em at 65 if they have to alter their set to more of the mid and slower tempo stuff. There is enough of that to fill a setlist with great stuff.

Posted by kurt @ 06/03/2008 01:57 PM EST

i couls agree with that. Walker/wheelchair Metallica is better than zero Metallica. So the current setlists are ever-evolving, slightly. They added No Remorse. BUt still closing with Last Caress, So What!, and Seek. I think that is a WEAK set of songs, especially if you are ending a show. Wonder if jaymz is wandering into the audience and getting freaks to yell into the mic "SEEK AND DESTROY". "Let's get one more completely insane muthafucka........".
